Carol Ritzen

It is with much sadness that we report the passing of our dear friend, Don Pearson who has finally lost his fight against cancer. Newton Abbot BC was Don's primary club but both Devon Bridge Association and many other clubs were fortunate to benefit from the support he gave us.

So many people have so much to thank him for both directly and indirectly. He was a central figure in the South West bridge world for many years and became one the the best directors in Devon and Cornwall. Through his knowledge and support, he helped with the introduction of computerisation to the many clubs, ran Director training courses and was the lead in charitable events for many local clubs. He would refuse to take any payment for his services and the only acceptable gift would be a voucher for the Bovey Tracey Cheese Shed.

Arrangements have been made for a farewell to Don at Torquay Crematorium TQ2 7QG at 9.45 on Monday 23 October and afterwards at TAAG Teignmouth TQ14 8DD.  All who knew Don and wish to pay their respects are welcome.

He will be greatly missed. Rest in peace, Don.
